Time Limits

The time limit for this event is 10 hours (equivalent to an average speed of 13kmh-1). A maximum average speed of 25kmh-1 (5 hours) is set to facilitate organisation of the event. It is unlikely that many riders will be troubled by the maximum but please contact me if this is a concern.

Directions to the Start

By Road

Follow A5 to Corwen, turn off in village at statue of Owain Glyndwr then immediately right into car park.

Facilities

Updated - 11 Aug 09
The car park has ample space however, as we discovered on the day, it is no longer free. On 9 Aug 09 the charge for a day's parking was £3.50. There is a further charge to use the toilets and only one (of two) was working.

Controls are at cyclist friendly cafes where food and drink is available at reasonable prices. Please support them with your custom. No food or drink is provided on the ride by the organiser.

At the Finish

Following discussions with riders, it was felt that a finish in the car park would be acceptable, particularly as it gives us more flexibility over start time and minimum speed. Not that it's as spartan as it sounds; I'll put some chairs and table next to my van, with an awning to protect us from the blazing sun. Cold drinks and munchies will be on hand. As always, the cafe and fish 'n chip shop are there in the village if you fancy something more.

Mudguards

Mudguards are optional.

Helmets

In view of the terrain and the speed of some descents, the wearing of a hard-shell helmet is recommended.
